At Home Chemistry Chemical Equation on Google Classroom Points for the Week: Attend Talk via Zoom: 10 points per talk (2 talks this week) At Home Chemistry assignment submitted via Google Docs: 5 points Office Hours: 5 points for 20 minutes of talking over assignments or going over challenge options. A = 30 points B = 25 points C= 22 points Make sure you're checking google classroom regularly (once per day) for all of your assignments and deadlines. All of the deadlines are given on the assignment! Today's Guest: Today we had Rachel Zarndt as our guest speaker. She spoke about Careers in Applied Chemistry - from high altitude climbing to COVID-19 testing. She went to school in Oregon, where she worked with monkeys during an undergraduate degree in neuroscience. She then walked dogs for a year in San Francisco before studying high altitude acclimatization drugs for climbers. After that, she decided to get a PhD in biomedical sciences at UCSD in genetic adaptations in high altitude populations. Today she is volunteering her time to run COVID-19 tests on healthcare workers, using skills from her PhD studies. She was really excited to meet all of you!
