About 10th Grade ChemistryWhat is 10th grade chemistry supposed to be about anyways? Chemistry is all about exploring the details of what makes up everything. We begin by looking at the world around us, then zoom in to see what makes those things. The focus of our course will be on the bigger picture of what atoms make and what that means for us and society. Nearly all matter is made of atoms (except the parts that make up atoms and other tiny bits that we really can't see). There are many ways in which these interact, and the periodic table helps organize the atoms by their behavior. We will explore how these properties change across the periodic table, and look at how they define bonding between atoms. Chemistry is really the study of how these different elements interact with each other, with the world around them, and with us.
