Students Without BordersThis project had students thinking like engineers, with students designing products to help people in need around the world. Based on the work of Engineers Without Borders, students identified what people need to feel safe, and what we can to do to meet those needs. Students then presented a project pitch to professional engineers, and had their ideas reviewed and selected for prototypes. Students were organized into teams of three or four, with someone designing a website, someone creating an instructables page, and someone creating a draft of their prototype.

Some groups even had their instructables featured by the editors! Click on Adobe Poop Oven at left to see more about this project.

InstructablesOne major component of this project was having students create something that did not just exist within the classroom, but could actually go out and inform the public. While we did not have time to get these projects to a fully complete state, we did have time to get them detailed enough for the public as prototypes. Check out the groups' instructables pages here:

WebsitesStudent groups each had to create a project website as well, with information about their product, what it was intended for, and a link to their instructables. This website was also supposed to contain information about how their project was built. See the project websites below!
