Today we introduced information about atoms, elements, and the periodic table. For work time, we continued working on our research questions (if you need those again, see yesterday's blog post; it also has guidelines for the talks!).
Nutrient and Pollutant Research Warmup Question: What is chemistry? Each team will be assigned a nutrient or pollutant we studied in the lab to research and present on in class on Tuesday. Students will share data and present their interpretations of that data in light of the research on Wednesday. Here is a link to the nutrient/pollutant sheets in case you need your questions again. Final Draft due Tuesday, September 4th at the end of class
Data talks Wednesday, September 5th You will present your interpreted data to the other half of the team. You will give your nutrient and pollutant talks to the class on Wednesday, then you will present your interpretation during team time from 2:30-3:30pm. Team Time: Letter to yourself! Letter to myself (to be opened at the end of 10th grade) Is there a particular message you want to tell your future self?
What are you worried about? Who are your friends right now? Where is home right now? Do you think that might change in the next year? Where do you feel most comfortable right now? Do you think that might change in the next year? What class are you most excited about? Describe your room as it is right now for your future self. What class are you most worried about? HOMEWORK: Collect a water sample from near your home and return it to school by Thursday, August 30th.
